JEWELRY CARE
Did you know Sterling silver is not 100% silver but actually a mixture of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper?
Sterling silver requires special care to preserve its integrity and appearance! Silver will tarnish due to everyday wear and activities.
To help prevent this as much as possible, it is recommended that you remove your jewelry before any type of indoor or outdoor chore, exercising, or using any type of lotion or cosmetic.
Remove your jewelry before getting wet - washing the dishes, getting in the pool/hottub, showering, etc. Water can get under the stones as well as cause the metal to tarnish quicker.
Tarnish is quite inevitable, but with proper care it can happen much slower over time. Store your jewelry in a sealed box or container.
You can use a special silver polishing cloth to clean your jewelry, but a lint-free flannel, microfiber, or other soft nonabrasive cloth will also work.
Do not use paper towels or tissues, they contain fibers that may scratch the soft silver.
Sterling silver may also be carefully cleaned with a toothbrush or jewelry brush, warm water, and Dawn dishsoap.
***Opals are easily affected by water. It is HIGHLY recommended that you are extra careful around liquids, as they can cause the Opals to become cloudy and lose their value over time.
